Angie's Pick of the Month

the Walking Dead

An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months society has crumbled: There is no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally begin living.
THIS ISSUE: Rick Grimes is not prepared for this. A couple months ago he was a small town cop who had never fired a shot and only ever saw one dead body. Separated from his family he must now sort through the death and confusion to try and find his wife and son.

Despite the fact that Vol 11 is already out and 12 is soon to be on its way this summer, Walking Dead still remains unknown to some people.  If you're a fan of zombies then you should already be reading this, but if you're not then prepare to have your mind blown. Don't let the fact that this book is in B&W deter you because the art is so well done that color would honestly only take away from the storytelling. Robert Kirkman's writing is what makes this book a must-read, his character development and dialogue make you really feel and worry about what happens next. But beware, this is a zombie book and no one is ever safe...

In other zombie news (but really the same)
AMC has ordered six episodes of Walking Dead: the tv series! They've even cast main character ex-cop Rick Grimes. For your viewing pleasure, a side by side of Rick and actor Andrew Lincoln.
