Featured Collections!

Looking for a good read this week but craving more than the usual 22 pages?  Check out these acclaimed series, collected in book form and on shelves now!

From the team that brought you Demo: Volume 1 and Jennie One comes Demo: Volume 2, on DC's Vertigo imprint!  Writer Brian Wood (DMZ) and artist Becky Cloonan (American Virgin) weave six gorgeous black-and-white glimpses into the lives of young adults struggling to live with strange powers they don't quite understand.  It's an alternative take on a common theme in comics, handled with grit and tenderness.

For years creator Carla Speed McNeil(Queen and Country)'s self-published "aboriginal sci-fi" series Finder has been an under-the-radar favorite, unfamiliar to all but a devoted few despite winning an Eisner, and hard to come by.  Thank goodness Dark Horse recognized a good thing when they saw it- the first four volumes are out now in a big beautiful compendium!  Follow enigmatic hero Jaeger and a fascinating cast of others through the "Sin Eater 1 & 2", "King of Cats", and "Talisman" story arcs!

Last but not least, superstar writer Greg Rucka (Batwoman) and artist Matthew Southworth (Spider-Man: Grim Hunt) serve up hard-boiled Northwest noir with Stumptown, out in hardcover from Oni Press.  P.I. Dex Parios is a tough, resourceful, and deeply flawed heroine as only Rucka can script, tracking down a missing girl and trying to get to the bottom of Portland's criminal underworld without getting killed (or thrown in jail, as her investigative methods often fall on the ambiguous end of the morality scale).  It's adult alternative comics at their finest, so give it a look!
